My Favorite Place

This was my favorite place on the whole island of O'hua. I could have gone here every day. It was kind of like a magical place. One minute you are in a really nice subdivision and then the next, you hike down a little trail and are in this beautiful creation of God. The water is so powerful; it amazed me every time I watched the waves crash against the rocks and the realization hit me that if I were only a few more feet down, the water could easily kill me, but here I was, up high enough that I could witness this awesome display of God's might and power. I was in awe every time we went.

This is the reason it is called the spitting caves. Water goes in here and is then spit back out. It's very cool to watch.

I decided I would see how far I could climb down before I could go no further. For some reason I enjoy peering over the edge of cliffs, I guess it's a rush or something.

This is my best friend. It is her that I have travelled everywhere with. We have spent time together in Ecuador, Washington DC and now Hawai'i. I look forward to the many more silly pictures we will take and in the many more places we will go together.

Only God could make a place so beautiful. The water was so blue, I had never seen anything like it.

LaniKai: Beautiful Sea

My first full day in Hawai'i was spent at Lanikai. We parked and walked about a mile to wear the public beach intrance was located. The walk was beautiful, with cute little houses, all with an ocean front view; it would be the perfect place to live.

Karlie got a call from Scott while we were there so this is what she's doing in these pictures. I think it's cool to see the vastness and the beauty of the sea against just one person. It shows me how big God is and how little we as humans are.

Much of our time at the beach was spent studying the Bible. Both Karlie and Meredith's New Year's resolution was to read the Bible through in a year.

This is my new friend Eunice. We spent the day with her at LaniKai. She was one of the many people I met that I wish I had not had to leave. On the night that it rained and was so windy I got to help her with her Biology homework, even though I'm pretty sure I made her do worse, it was a lot of fun.

Meredith is acting out a crab, showing us how their friend Nick acts like a crab.

Another picture to show how great God is and how small we as humans are.
